Voordat André Hazes vader werd, kwam de tekst van ‘Kleine Jongen’ niet echt bij hem binnen. Dankzij zijn zoontje Dré snapt hij die woorden nu maar al te goed.
In Music Memories van Radio 538 praat hij over zijn zoon en dat doet hem zichtbaar wat.
‘Zijn opa’
Als Kleine Jongen opgezet wordt, begint André te vertellen. “Dat liedje begrijp je. Je voelt het aan alle kanten en dan is het ook nog eens van je eigen vader, zijn opa.”
Wat André het mooiste vindt aan vader zijn, is de onvoorwaardelijke liefde. “De wereld kan je gestolen worden. Het interesseert je niks meer wat andere mensen van je denken. Het enige belangrijke is dat als je thuis komt, die kleine jongen blij naar de deur komt en ‘papa’ roept.”
